Summary
The Greensboro sit ins were very important to the Civil Rights Movement. They were a way for the African Americans to protest against their rights without being violent. It showed America that they were willing to have nonviolent protests to get what they wanted. They had multiple ways of trying to get what they wanted. It made the whites look bad if they were violent when the African Americans weren’t.
The Greensboro sit ins were very popular with Martin Luther King Jr. He supported the nonviolent protests and didn’t want them to turn violent. They ended up winning in their argument and got the right to sit in the diner. This was important to them because it showed that they could gather victories by using sit ins. It gave the African Americans hope that they would get more rights.
Commentary
The sit ins were a very well thought out way of protesting to get more rights. They were a nonviolent way of getting things done. I give the African Americans credit for thinking of ways without using violence. It showed that they were willing to be civil about all of this. They ended up getting the rights they wanted and were able to sit in the Woolworths diner. Martin Luther King Jr. led
these sit ins and was a very important figure in all the protests.
